Who We Are

Partnering to build a world where women accused of witchcraft, children born with Disabilities and other less privileged in society are supported and treated with care, dignity and respect

Tayan was born in November, 2023 as a Non-Governmental Organization. It works as a local indigenous and social oriented organization, Tayan lbg, under the laws of Ghana, located in the North East Region, Gambaga and sponsored by individuals and Donor partners

VISION STATEMENT

A society where people are free from Witchcraft Accusations, Brutalities, Banishment, Injustice and ignorance but feels worthy of themselves in social and Economic Development as life becomes meaningful.

MISSION STATEMENT

To work with individuals, Traditional Authorities, groups and communities within the East Mamprusi, Bunkprugu- Yunyoo, Karaga, Yendi and Gushegu Districts and beyond to empower the venerable in tackling poverty related issues. This will be done in partnership with other developmental organizations who share the same core values as we do.

What We Do

— We Find & protect

We ensure that old women accused of witchcraft are not subjected to inhuman treatment especially at their community levels

— We advocate against dehumanization

To advocate against old Traditional beliefs that do not recognize and allow women play important roles in their communities

— We support children with disabilities

We ensure that children living with disabilities are supported in their education

04.

— We Educate

We educate and facilitate the reintegration of women and men accused of witchcraft andare staying in the camp.

We also ensure that children staying at the camps in both Northern and North East Regions are given formal Education.

— We Provide Care

We work and ensure that, old people accused of witchcraft are mentally sound and counseled

06.

— We fight against child forced marriage

We fight for the rights of the girl child and to prevent child forced marriage

Impact Stories

From November 2023, to January, 2024, 5 women have been reintegrated including the Leader of the women in the cam
Women reintegrated were supported with food items to feed
Four communities were chosen and members educated on the dangers of brutalitazing and burnishing women as witches.
